its last

there was no

repair it?
- That
same car doubles
as your
living room,
dining room
and bedroom?
- You
worry about if
you will
eat, not
when and
what?
- Everything
your family
owns can fit
into a single
brown paper
bag?

and this was

About
the eBook
|
|
"A
Safe Place for Kaytlind"
takes the reader into the lives
of children who cope with
homelessness, and the struggles
they and their families face as
they fight their way into a
sustainable life.
It's not an easy path. Children
have come to Opportunity Place
barefoot and wearing old
pajamas, the only clothes they
have. Many are ill; some show
the signs of physical
starvation.
Kaytlind is only seven, but she
has been homeless off and on
since she was two. Security is
not something she is familiar
with. But, when she came to
Opportunity Place first in 2009
and later in 2011, she found a
home. She created a small book
of art explaining why the
shelter is her safe place, one
where she knows we will always
take her in.
Join Kaytlind, and other
children, and discover what
homelessness means, when seen
through the eyes of a
child.
